Women's Emergency Shelter
- Description
- Operates crisis housing for women leaving an abusive situation
- Provides a 24-hour crisis line
- Provides crisis transportation and transportation between facilities
- Offers individual counselling and referral to residents
- Assists women and children with primary health needs through weekly visits from a Nurse Practitioner
- Eligibility
- Women 16 years of age and their children must be directly leaving an abusive situation; women and children who have already left the abusive situation are not eligible
- Abuse can be physical, sexual, emotional, physiological, financial or spiritual abuse
- Accommodates male children up to the age of 15
