Operates a public on-reserve school for elementary students
  • Administered by Windigo Education Authority (WEA) who acts in an advisory capacity
  • Offers a full curriculum for students from Junior Kindergarten (JK) to Grade 8; approved and inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education
  • Provides a special education teacher
  • Teaches Oji-Cree language as a subject course
  • Provides a daily breakfast program for students
  • Offers a school gymnasium and library
  • Promotes and supervises cultural and traditional outings such as fishing, hunting, trapping and participates in an annual hunting festival in September
  • Supervises extra-curricular activities such as hockey tournaments
  • Organizes summer school and camps for children
