Description
Oversees schools and education programs in four First Nation communities
  • Provides the opportunity for collaborative decision-making for all education programs and issues
  • Works to create improvements in area schools, programs, services, personnel and student performance
  • Conducts teacher evaluations
  • Assists with school policy development
  • Posts teaching jobs online, processes applications and conducts interviews for available positions
Bilingual Education
  • Supports and encourages the bilingual education program
  • Strives to enable students to be fully fluent and literate in the Aboriginal language and in English
Special Education
  • Provides special education programs
  • Supports fully-integrated programs
  • Promotes special needs children developing to the maximum of their ability
Administers the following schools:
  • Bimaychikamah School, Slate Falls
  • Martin McKay Memorial School, Sachigo Lake
  • Michikan Lake School, Bearskin Lake
  • Lawrence Wesley Education Centre, Cat Lake
