Description
Serves as a non-political Chiefs Council which provides support and advisory services to 10 First Nation communities
  • Provides governance, political support and advocacy to Bimose Tribal Council territory First Nations in their quest to build self-sufficient communities
  • Consists of Chiefs and representatives from each community
  • Delivers programs and services through local community government
  • Provides services that respect and reflect the Anishinaabe cultural beliefs, traditions and practices

  • Education Services
  • Education Services, Language Camps
  • Finance
  • Technical Services, Capital Planning
  • Technical Services, Circuit Rider Training Program
  • Technical Services, Fire Protection and Prevention
  • Technical Services, Housing Advisory
  • Technical Services, Operations and Maintenance
Comments
  • All communities are part of Treaty #3 except Lac des Mille Lacs which is part of the Robinson-Superior Treaty
  • Bimose Tribal Council is a member of the political territorial organization Grand Council Treaty #3 (GCT3)
  • Bimose Tribal Council Head Office is located in Washagamis Bay 38A, PO Box 1200, Kenora, ON P9N 3X7

Must belong to one of the member First Nations in the Bimose Tribal Council territory

  • Services are delivered at the local level (Band Office)
  • Not all services are provided to every community
  • Status Card and Registration services available by appointment only
