Description
Enhances member community's management and operations by delivering financial management and governance advisory services
  • Provides advice on good governance and financial management practices
  • Addresses financial and personnel management by providing capacity development to local managers, administration staff, schools, health centers and nursing stations
  • Provides support for preparation of funding proposals for various community initiatives
  • Maintains resources on management practices, policies and procedures and governance codes, available for community use upon request
Provides advisory services for community finance personnel in following areas:
  • Audit preparation
  • Computerized accounting and bookkeeping
  • Financial planning
  • Internal reporting
  • Policy development
Also provides:
  • Bookkeeping and financial management services to Wabun Tribal Council
  • Representation on employment and training programs through Mamo-Nuskomitowin
  • Representation for Wabun Tribal Council on various groups such as the Aboriginal Financial Officers Association of Canada, Ont Chapter and the Northern College Business Advisory Committee
