- Description
- Provides confidential support services and impartial court preparation for children and youth involved in the criminal justice system as either victims and/or witnesses
- Provides sensitive, informed, and effective assistance to child victims and witnesses to lessen the trauma of communicating evidence in court
- Provides case updates to victims and families
- Provides the victim a tour of the court house
- Educates the victim on courtroom procedures and the role of a witness
- Attends court with the victim
- Refers the child and/or family to other community services, if needed
- Eligibility
- Children and youth 17 years of age and younger who are involved in the criminal justice system, either as victims and/or witnesses
