Child Witness Program


Description
  • Provides confidential support services and impartial court preparation for children and youth involved in the criminal justice system as either victims and/or witnesses
  • Provides sensitive, informed, and effective assistance to child victims and witnesses to lessen the trauma of communicating evidence in court
  • Provides case updates to victims and families
  • Provides the victim a tour of the court house
  • Educates the victim on courtroom procedures and the role of a witness
  • Attends court with the victim
  • Refers the child and/or family to other community services, if needed
Eligibility
Children and youth 17 years of age and younger who are involved in the criminal justice system, either as victims and/or witnesses
