Methadone Maintenance Program


Description
Offers a substance abuse treatment program for individuals with opiate addiction which includes:
  • Initial intake screening procedure
  • Addiction assessment
  • Urine drug test
  • Physical and appropriate lab tests
  • Counselling assessment
  • Psychiatry assessment
  • Two doctor's appointments per week during first two weeks
  • Ongoing counselling and case management
Note: Offers both Methadone and Suboxone treatment

Eligibility
Individuals aged 16 years and older with an opiate addiction
Application Process
  • Pre-screening intake interview by telephone or in person is required
  • Referral from a family physician, psychiatrist, clinical psychologist, addiction counselor, other allied health professional, or employer
  • Comprehensive addiction assessment required
  • Urine drug test required
Fees
Program - Individuals without private coverage or workplace extended health benefits ; None - Covered by Ontario Drug Benefit Program for those receiving Social assistance; Physician appointments covered by OHIP
