- Description
- Represents the community in all lands and related issues
- Oversees the Land Code which was voted in by community members in Dec 2009 giving Henvey Inlet First Nation (HIFN) full responsibility for their own land management
- Liaises with all companies undertaking resource development in traditional HIFN territory including mining developments, forestry projects and hydro electric power projects
- Participates in negotiations and agreements with resource developers to ensure HIFN is fairly included in benefits
- Develops and implements a consultation protocol for negotiations related to Lands and Resource issues
- Advises community members on any Lands issues via meetings, website or correspondence
- Provides guidance in the development of Land Use Plans for the community
