Description
Functions as the governing office for the community; oversees all community programs, services and facilities

Activities and services for community members also include but are not limited to the following:
  • Ontario First Nation Policing arrangements provided by Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Britt Detachment
  • Community members access urgent health/hospital services at the Health Sciences North (Sudbury Regional Hospital) or West Parry Sound Health Centre
  • Serviced by air through the Sudbury airport approx 80 km N of community and the Parry Sound Airport approx 90 km S of community
  • Provides a Canada Post outlet with home mail delivery
  • Offers the Henvey Inlet Gas Bar and shopping available nearby in Britt, 28 km S of community but also in Sudbury and Parry Sound, both within an hour's drive
  • Provides the Kateri Tekawitha Roman Catholic Church
  • Manages the seasonal Pickerel River Trailer Park and Marina
  • Served with municipal water by the new Water Treatment plant in Pickerel
  • School-aged children attend elementary school in Britt and high school in Parry Sound
  • Provides recreational facilities including outdoor rink, baseball diamond, a playground, and a small beach located on the SE side of Cantin Lake
  • Provides childcare services at the Henvey Inlet Daycare Centre
  • Coordinates a Good Food Box Program
  • Offers health care and community health programs through the Health Centre
  • Provides the Henvey Inlet First Nation Library
  • Operation of Henvey Inlet Wind Farm; commercial operations started in Oct 2019 and created more than 20 permanent, on-site jobs related to maintaining the facility
