Child Mentoring Services


Description
  • Offers the big brother and big sister mentoring programs that match children with an adult mentor
  • Provides one to one mentoring
  • Offers group and online mentoring
Volunteers
  • Trains volunteers to be mentors to children
Comments
The friendship through the mentoring programs will be supported by the agency until 21 years of age
Eligibility
  • Children between 6-16 years of age
  • Children 14-16 years of age will be considered for a mentor on a case by case basis


Volunteers
  • Must be 18 years of age and over
  • Thorough screening check required
Application Process
  • Volunteers must complete a screening process that includes application, interview, criminal records check including a vulnerable sector check, reference checks and a home visit
  • Parents and guardians referring children must complete an application and an interview with a caseworker
