- Description
- Helps Indigenous students make the successful transition to college and provides them with ongoing support throughout their college years
- Works with First Nation communities and organizations to identify, develop and deliver community-based programs
Bebaandanaadmaaget- Assists in the recruitment of First Nation students
- Delivers programs in First Nations communities through partnership agreements with First Nations and Indigenous education institutes
- Provides student financial support, scholarships bursaries and/or employment support
- Maintains an active liaison with First Nations Band Education offices and Native community organizations
- Helps to establish a safe, supportive, and customary holistic environment for students
- Helps to promote the understanding of Indigenous culture and people through housing a sacred space for cross-cultural awareness
- Supports students through programs and activities such as the Elders on campus, meditation, and storytelling
