Description
  • Provides educational services and supports to elementary and secondary school students living on reserve
  • Offers tutoring and homework assistance for students to complete homework at the Band Office
  • Provides bus transportation for elementary and secondary school students to attend school in Chapleau
  • Offers literacy related workshops and seminars on-reserve to parents and students

Adult Education
  • Offers help in reading, writing, math, computers and life skills
  • Offers academic upgrading for grade 12 equivalency
  • Offers computer literacy with training on various software packages

Post Secondary Student Support Program
  • Provides financial and academic support throughout the school year to post secondary students both on and off the reserve
  • Provides assistance for applying/filling out application forms for colleges and universities
  • Provides bursaries and scholarships for Chapleau Cree students continuing with post-secondary education

  • Members of Chapleau Cree First Nation
  • All school aged children and youth living on reserve
  • Any individual living on reserve and pursuing further education
Post Secondary Student Support Program
  • All Band members regardless of residency are eligible to apply for financial assistance if attending post secondary institution
  • Financial assistance is limited to available funding

Application Process
  • Tutoring and homework assistance available upon request
Post Secondary Student Support Program
  • Applications for financial assistance available online or at Band Office
  • Deadline to apply for assistance for Sept enrollment is Jun 1st; Jan enrollment is Oct 1st
Applicant required to provide:
  • Photocopy of recent status card
  • Completed post-secondary application package issued by Chapleau Cree First Nation
  • Letter of acceptance from post-secondary institution
  • Transcripts from high school and any previous academic institutions
  • Detailed letter of intent with program information
  • Copy of voided cheque or bank information
  • Signed student contract
