Description
  • Operates an 8 bed youth justice residence
  • Provides a full range of life skills training on site and supervised in the community where possible
  • Provides an on-site education program through the Near North District School Board
  • Residents are required to participate in a full day program September through June, and half day program through the summer months
  • Coordinates with the youth's home school in an effort to provide continuity of the youth's education plan
  • Assists residents in understanding their rights and responsibilities and ensuring legal representation in court
  • Provides behaviour reports to the court or probation services upon request

Offers specialized programming including but not limited to
  • Anger management
  • Character education
  • Effective problem solving
  • Literacy training
  • Substance abuse
  • Provides open detention and open custody services
  • Provides full school program for all residents
  • Offers full range of life skills and recreational programming in the residence and in the community where possible
  • Advocates for residents ensuring that they understand their basic rights, including the right to legal representation in court
