Description
  • Assists children to improve their physical strength as well as gross and fine motor skills
  • Assists children to develop visual motor skills, such as hand-eye coordination and sensory abilities
  • Assesses movement to determine muscle strength, range of movement, deformities, quality of movement, and gross motor development such as sitting and walking
  • Assesses, prescribes and modifies equipment such as bath chairs, adapted cutlery, clothing, writing tools
  • Recommends structural renovations within the home, school or community
  • Offers activities, exercises, and other hands on techniques that promote movement, flexibility and proper body alignment
  • Works closely with the family, caregivers, and clients to encourage gross motor development

Children and youth with physical, developmental and communication delays and disabilities
