Description
Functions as a community health clinic
  • Provides primary care and emergency services
  • Offers the services of the Physician group, Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses while more remote communities are served by visiting Physicians and on-site Registered Nurses
  • Coordinates arrangements for Dental Clinics
  • Arranges for air ambulance transfers to larger centres for emergency/surgical services
  • Receives ambulance and paramedic services from Weeneebayko Arae Health Authority-Paramedic Services (WAHA-PS)
  • Provides English/Cree translation and interpretation services
Offers primary health care including but not limited to:
  • Chronic disease management
  • Health promotion
  • Disease prevention
  • Nutritional counselling
  • Mental health counselling
Weeneebayko Area Health Authority also provides the maintenance, supplies and equipment to support the operations of the Health Centre through contribution agreements with Health Canada
