Description
  • Promotes overall health and wellness of children, families and community members
  • Offers support, early intervention and prevention activities
  • Promotes cultural and traditional teachings, Anishinabemowin, sweat lodges, traditional parenting and parent support circles
  • Focus is on children and families at-risk of becoming involved with a Children's Aid Society (CAS)
Delivers programs and services in the following areas;
  • Annual events
  • Case management
  • Cultural programs
  • Parenting programs
  • Recreational activities and programs
Activities and events can include:
  • Badminton nights
  • Ball hockey nights
  • Baseball tournaments and practices
  • Basketball tournaments
  • Body mass index (BMI) testing at Lakeview School
  • Community drum programs
  • Hockey breakfast program
  • Home visits
  • Kids camps
  • March break and Fall break activities
  • Parenting sessions
Eligibility
  • Members of M'Chigeeng First Nation
  • Children 7-12 years of age at-risk and their families
