Description
Represents the community in lands and resources initiatives
  • Liaises with all companies undertaking resource development in traditional Rocky Bay territory including mining developments, forestry projects and hydro electric power projects
  • Participates in negotiations and agreements with resource developers to ensure Rocky Bay First Nation is fairly included in benefits
  • Consults with target groups who have an interest in land and resource issues such as commercial fishermen, trappers and bear management
  • Develops and implements a consultation protocol for negotiations related to Lands and Resource issues
  • Advises community members on Lands and Resource issues via meetings or correspondence
  • Works with the Housing Department for allocation of land to Rocky Bay registered members that wish to build a home or cabin on Biinjitiwaabik Zaaging Anishinaabek territorial land
