Waste and Recycling Management

  • Responsible for residential and commercial waste and recycling collection
  • Contracts B & M Delivery for residential waste and recyclable collection
  • Posts waste and recycling collection schedules online
  • Provides household hazardous waste collection on a drop off basis at Public Works yard once every year (usually in September) for disposal of old and unwanted products; acceptable products list posted on website
  • Provides a brown paper compost bag collection twice per year (spring and fall) to allow residents to discard yard waste
  • Offers compost drop site at landfill
NOTE: Public Works does NOT handle electronics recycling; they can be dropped off at 270 Wilson Rd behind the Mill

  • Landfill Site is located on Highway 502 (5 km South on Hwy 502)
Hours of Operation
Office: Mon-Fri 7:30 am-4 pm
Hwy 502 Landfill: Mon-Sat 8 am-5 pm
Must be a taxpayer of the City of Dryden
Application Process
  • Requires residential garbage bags to have Garbage Bag Tags affixed; available at various locations within Dryden
  • Recyclables must be contained in Blue Box; available for purchase at Public Works office
  • Tipping fees apply if accessing landfill on your own
Service fees ; None for Compost bag collection and disposal at landfill; Hazardous waste collection
