First Nation Elementary School

  • Operates a public on-reserve school for elementary school students
  • Offers a full curriculum for students from Junior Kindergarten (JK) to Grade 6; approved and inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education
  • Teaches Native language as a subject course
  • Administers a diabetes prevention program to all students in grades 3-4
  • Provides a daily breakfast program for students
  • Offers a school gymnasium with shower facilities, a library/resource centre, a computer room, labs for home economics and industrial arts and a multi-purpose facility
  • Offers cultural and traditional events and outings
  • Supervises extra-curricular activities including a running club which competes at world running events

Special Education
  • Provides special education assistance for students with learning difficulties
  • Develops an Individual Education Plan (IEP) for each student with annual reviews
  • Strives for maximum amount of integration with regular programs
