Description
Offers culturally relevant supports and programs focused on improving the health of mothers and their infants
  • Provides individual and group counselling
  • Offers pre/post natal classes
  • Coordinates First Aid/CPR workshops
  • Provides emergency food and supplies including diapers, wipes, formula and prenatal vitamins
  • Provides emergency clothing and furniture, based upon availability
  • Provides education and information sessions about good parenting skills and lifestyle issues affecting the health of an infant such as smoking, alcohol and family violence
  • Offers referrals to other services and counselling

Aqua Tots
  • Provides swimming sessions for moms and infants

Breastfeeding Program
  • Offers one on one support
  • Provides education on healthy living including effects of substances
  • Loans out breast pump
  • Offers smoking cessation support for moms and dads

Infant Massage
  • Provides infant massage sessions twice per year
  • Can provide the sessions year-round on a one-on-one basis as needed

Transportation Program
  • Provides transportation for errands, grocery shopping and medical appointments
  • Arranges for taxi when driver not available
Eligibility
  • Pre/post natal, off-reserve, at-risk Indigenous mothers and infants up to 6 months of age or older if required and requested by family
  • Offers on-reserve support

  • Pump loaned on first come basis

  • Must make arrangements 2 days prior to required time
