Description
Delivers a parenting support program and promotes child development
  • Offers parents with Traditional and Western knowledge of pregnancy and baby care
  • Offers Cultural Workshops and Activities such as beading and moccasin making
  • Offers medicine walks, community kitchens and infant massage classes
  • Provides referrals for prenatal classes

Program participants are provided with:
  • Nutritional supports for pregnant mothers and their young children
  • Follow up via telephone within 48 hours of discharge from hospital
  • Home visits prenatal and postnatal to support family
  • Home visits during child's early years to offer development guidance
  • Referrals to other programs and services

Car Seat Inspections
  • Provides trained inspections for child and infant car seats
  • Provides car seat installations
  • Provides information on regulations concerning child car seats
