Description
  • Administers a community-based food purchasing system that makes fresh fruits and vegetables available to community members
  • Charges a small fee each month from participants in exchange for a large box of fresh fruits and vegetables which also includes either a rice or pasta, sauce and a canned vegetable
  • Includes a newsletter outlining upcoming dates, all items in the Food Box and a recipe using items from the box
  • Provides a Meat/Dairy box draw twice a year with individuals completing program survey to enter draw
  • Partners with the Dryden Food Access Committee and Dryden Safeway
  • Receives additional support from Dryden Native Friendship Centre, Dryden Volunteer Recruitment & Referral Centre and Community Living-Dryden/Sioux Lookout

Order forms available at various community locations such as NWHU and Safeway
  • Order and pay for box by first Fri of month at Dryden Safeway (75 Whyte Ave) Customer Service Desk
  • Pick up on third Fri of month at Dryden Volunteer Recruitment & Referral Centre (53 Arthur St) between 12 noon-6 pm
  • Must sign in to confirm that order is picked up
  • Request people bring their own shopping bag, box or tote
NOTE: Orders not picked up by 6 pm will be donated
