Bariatric Care Centre

Operates a regional assessment and treatment centre for pre and post-operative care of patients with obesity requiring gastric bypass surgery
Two types of services offered include:Medical ServicesProvides non-medical services, including nutrition and lifestyle counselling, for individuals who cannot or choose not to have surgery
Surgical ServicesPerforms gastric bypass surgery, however, will refer complex cases to a partner program in Southern Ontario
Individuals who choose medical services will meet for group counselling once per week during the length of their treatment. The group will discuss healthy lifestyle nutrition choices and other lifestyle changes.
Hours of Operation
Mon-Fri 8:30 am-4:30 pm
  • Individuals who are obese
  • Individuals who are considering surgery are required to have a body mass index of 40 or higher
Application Process
  • Individuals must have their primary care provider request a referral to the clinic through the Ontario Bariatric Registry
  • A primary care provider can be a family doctor, a walk-in clinic doctor, or a nurse practitioner
