  • Facilitates the discussion, planning, implementation and evaluation of all local, regional and national matters affecting the First Nations people of Ontario
  • Serves as a political forum and secretariat for collective decision-making, action, and advocacy for 133 First Nations in Ontario
  • Maintains a directory of First Nations communities on website
  • Governed by the Political Confederacy (PC), composed of the Grand Chiefs of the four political territorial organizations and a representative of the independent First Nations, overseen by the Regional Elder and chaired by the Ontario Regional Chief
