Lands and Property Management

Represents the community in all land and environmental management activities on reserve
  • Registered under the Reserve Lands and Environment Management Program
  • Liaises with most community departments including housing, infrastructure, environmental management, health, education and economic development to provide land management services
  • Practices and promotes sustainable development, sound governance, and economic viability through Community Land Use Planning
  • Oversees activities involving land transactions, and registration and approval processes for reserve lands registered in the Indian Lands Registry
  • Identifies and assesses the environmental effects of land use policies, addresses those issues and advocates sound environmental practices
  • Ensures compliance with regulations and policies governing land issues
  • Advises community members on Lands and Resource issues via meetings or correspondence
