  • If an individual is locked out of their apartment, call Maintenance at 766-4777 . If it occurs after regular business hours, call the answering service at 766-2111 and select option 1. APEX will be sent to open the door.
  • $25 fee for APEX
Eligibility
  • Low income individuals
  • Special priority status available for victims of domestic violence and abuse
  • Each member of the household must be a Canadian citizen, or a landed immigrant, or a refugee claimant
  • No deportation, departure or exclusion order has been made against any member of the household
  • No member of the household owes rental arrears to any housing project under any housing program (Includes market and/or rent-geared-to-income)
  • No member of the household has been convicted of an offence under section 85 of the SHRA or a crime under the Criminal Code (Canada) regarding rent-geared-to-income assistance, or found by the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal or a court of law to have misrepresented their income for the purpose of rent-geared-to-income

Application Process
  • Applications are available at and processed by The District of Thunder Bay Social Services Administration Board and can be picked up at the Thunder Bay office, printed from the website; or mailed out on request
  • Assessment required
  • Income verification, banking information and personal identification required

Service - Rent ; Fee assistance available for low-income individuals and families ; assistance is provided by The District of Thunder Bay Social Services Adminstration Board.
