Description
Operates a public on-reserve school for elementary students
  • Administers the school through the Windigo Education Authority
  • Offers some programs for specific needs (ie. math) for students from Junior Kindergarten (JK) to Grade 8; programs such as reading comprehension, writing skills and computer instruction offered as funding allows
  • Teaches Oji-Cree language as a subject course
  • Provides a daily breakfast program for students
  • Offers a total of eight classrooms, a computer room, a public-school library, a gymnasium, multipurpose and change room facilities, and play areas for kindergarten and elementary students
  • Provides technology tools such as Chrome books, Kindles, iPads, Smartboards, and virtual reality equipment
  • Offers cultural and traditional outings such as fishing and trapping
  • Organizes summer school and camps for children

Special Education
  • Provides special education assistance for students with learning difficulties
  • Strives for maximum amount of integration with regular programs
