Description
  • Provides support to individuals and families who are homeless or at imminent risk of becoming homeless due to poor money management, capacity issues, abuse, or overwhelming debt load
  • Strives to keep individuals in their home and reduce the amount and duration of stays in a shelter
  • Reviews a household's income and liabilities to develop an action plan to ensure stabilization

Note: If a household is assessed as lacking the capacity to implement or maintain the plan, a formal trusteeship is set up for a minimum of one year which allows LIPI to act on behalf of the household

Once in the Trustee Program, all sources of income are deposited into a trust bank account which is administered by LIPI. LIPI then takes the responsibility of paying for rent, utilities, and other housing costs, while also providing a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly allowance.
