Represents the community in lands and resources initiatives
  • Liaises with all companies undertaking resource development in traditional Whitefish River territory including mining developments, forestry projects and hydro electric power projects
  • Participates in negotiations and agreements with resource developers to ensure Whitefish River First Nation is fairly included in benefits
  • Consults with target groups who have an interest in land and resource issues such as mining
  • Develops and implements a consultation protocol for negotiations related to Lands and Resource issues
  • Advises community members on Lands and Resource issues via meetings, website or correspondence
  • Works to ensure the requirements of the Whitefish River Land Code are implemented and met such as terms for Spousal Property Law
  • Provides guidance for the development of a Land Use Plan and Environmental Management System for the community
  • Works with the Housing Department for allocation of land to Whitefish River registered members that wish to build a home or cabin on territorial land
