Description
Responsible for processing Non-Insured Health Benefits Service claims and coordinating medical transportation for community members
  • Provides transportation to medical appointments within the community for members without access to a vehicle
  • Provides transportation and/or assistance from/to White River First Nation to medical appointments (doctor, dentist, optometrist, specialist) in Little Current, Espanola and surrounding area
  • Submits medical appointment travel, mileage, meal and accommodation requests on behalf of individual
  • Provides assistance with making arrangements for any medical appointments out of town such as booking appointments, hotels, and completing applications for mileage compensation

NOTE: Individuals with small children must have appropriate car seat restraints or transportation will not be provided

Eligibility
Members of Whitefish River First Nation who require medical transportation assistance due to age or disability, or do not have access to a vehicle

  • Requires written proof of medical appointment
  • Requires 2 weeks advance booking; exceptions made for emergencies
  • Advance cancellation recommended
