First Nation School

Provides an elementary on-reserve school for community students
  • Offers a full curriculum for students from JK to Grade 8; approved and inspected by the Ontario Ministry of Education
  • Provides a full-time Physical Education program and Literacy Resource program
  • Offers the Anishinabemowin Revival Plan (ARP), an initiative that incorporates daily cultural and Native language into the JK/SK curriculum
  • Provides a snack program for all students consisting of milk, yogurt and fruit
  • Offers a school gymnasium, cafeteria, library, and computer room
  • Participates in Island Soccer tournaments
  • Provides bus transportation for all students attending the school

Special Education
  • Provides special education assistance for students with learning difficulties
  • Develops an Individual Education Plan (IEP) for each student with annual reviews
  • Strives for maximum amount of integration with regular programs
