Lands and Membership Department

Provides services and assistance with the registration system of all issues pertaining to membership, lands and estates
  • Responsible for the implementation of the Membership Code (works with the Membership Committee)
  • Informs community leadership of current and evolving Indian status changes
    and issues
  • Maintains updated population statistics
  • Supplies forms, provides guidance for filling out applications and offers assistance in mailing to applicable departments

Provides assistance in the following matters:
  • Birth certificates and registration
  • Certificates of Possession
  • Death certificates
  • Estates and pensions
  • Indian Registration matters
  • Land Code development
  • Land surveys
  • Land transactions and issues related to land use plans
  • Status cards and renewals
  • Wills

Application Process
Children who are eligible for membership but not yet registered require a long form birth certificate; Ontario Works will assist in the payment ($35) for the document; contact Membership Administrator
