Description
  • Ensures that accused individuals who are entitled to pre-trial release are not held in custody because of a lack of financial resources or community connections
  • Interviews the accused individual to gather information so the courts can determine whether or not to release the individual from custody
  • Verifies information provided by the accused to enable pre-trial release
  • Determines the availability of a surety or suitability for supervision under the Bail Verification and Supervision Program
  • Directs individuals to the Elizabeth Fry Society for intake into the program
Hours of Operation
Mon-Fri 9 am-4 pm
Eligibility
Men and women accused of a criminal offence and who are:
  • Appealing a bail decision which has resulted in detention
  • Awaiting initial bail proceedings
  • In custody and unable to meet their surety or cash bail
  • Remanded for show cause hearing


Age Requirements: Ages: 16 year(s) and up;
Application Process
Referrals from Courts, Crown Attorney, Defence, Duty Counsel, Correctional Staff, Court Workers, community agencies, family, friends, and self
